B) This shows a side view of a thoracic vertebral body being injected with methyl methacrylate impregnated with sterile barium to allow better visibility (appears white). The needle (arrow) is passing through the back side of the vertebral segment to enter the vertebral body, the site where the methyl methacrylate is being deposited.
