Hematology: understanding of the etiology, and management of cerebrovascular injury in children with sickle cell disease.  Also,  the epidemiology, clinical significance and genetic basis for asthma in children with sickle cell anemia

Oncology: the epidemiology, optimal management and molecular basis for an overgrowth syndrome associated with cancer in children, Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome (BWS).
